Handing over the plaque was SG E. Hannam and receiving for JLS was Deputy Director Kishmar Simpson. She thanked JNCU for the years of cooperation and especially with the various libraries in the system. The handing over was at the JLS headquarters in the presence of some staff members. Also there representing JNC-UNESCO were PM Dr Maria Smith and Public Education/Documentalist D. Hopkinson.</p>

<p>The second staging of the WEW Heritage competition &#8220;Embracing our Cultural Heritage&#8221; was held at the Institute of Jamaica Lecture Hall, 28 February. Twelve primary schools from Downtown, Kingston were invited to challenge each other in both quiz (with questions focused on Jamaican history, culture and heritage) and creative (celebrating/recognizing a Jamaican woman under 50 years old who characterizes &#8220;Jamaicanism&#8221;) competitions.</p>
<p>Only four schools participated and <strong>Elletson Primary  emerged the champions</strong> winning the JNC-UNESCO trophy (in pic).</p>
