St. Mary’s in Saint Kitts and Nevis added to UNESCO’s World Network of Biosphere Reserves

The International Coordinating Council of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme (MAB), meeting in Dresden (Germany) from 28 June to 1 July, has added 18 new sites to the World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR), which now numbers 580 sites in 114 countries. International Biodiversity Day, 2010

Caribbean Biosphere Reserves Tour, 2009

February-March 2009: The Jamaica National Commission for UNESCO is spearheading efforts towards establishing Biosphere Reserves in the English Speaking Caribbean. A Caribbean regional tour was conducted to engage stakeholders on the importance of biospheres.
