International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (IDEVAW) and the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence (GBV) is observed on November 25 – December 10 annually. 🟠UNESCO joins the 16-days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence and will highlight Caribbean youth-led activism to promote gender equality.

Various UNESCO Clubs undertook beach cleanup activities as part of International Coastal Cleanup Day 21 September 2019. Activities were undertaken by DeCarteret College UNESCO Club at Alligator Pond, St Elizabeth; UWI UNESCO Club at Palisadoes Go Kart Track Ardenne Prep, YWCA with HEART Trust/NTA at Hellshire.
On the occasion of the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development a high level event on Culture and Sustainable Development, 21 May 2019 was held. It was a UN event in partnership with UNESCO.
The 1999 UNESCO proclamation for World Poetry Day recognizes poetry as a social need which must be encouraged and nurtured. An appreciation of poetry does much for fostering a spirit of introspection and empathy.
To commemorate World Radio Day 2019 a presentation was made to the Manager of Radio Abeng, 88.7FM, the commuity radio station in Accompong.
