Regional Workshop on Science Advice
A Caribbean Capacity Building Workshop that was facilitated by the International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA) and held 20 -21 February 2018.
Participants from the Caribbean shared and discussed experiences in communication of science, science advice, the role of science in emergency response and management, science and the SDGs, and tackled different case studies.
The main facilitator was Prof. Sir Peter Gluckman, Chair of INGSA and Chief Science Advisor to Prime Minister of New Zealand. UNESCO’s Regional Science Director, Dr Lidia Brito, was among the leading presenters and resource persons.
During his opening remarks, Minister of Science, Energy and Technology, Dr. Andrew Wheatley also announced that the draft of the Science, Technology and Innovation (ST&I) Policy will be brought to Cabinet in two weeks for its consideration.
