Nominations are to be individuals and active public or private bodies or institutions that have made a significant contribution to promoting, seeking, safeguarding or maintaining peace in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and the Constitution of UNESCO. Candidates must have an international reputation earned through commendable and proven action aver several years. A candidate’s commitment to human rights and the promotion of a culture of peace, their work in those areas, and their contemporary humanism regardless of ethnic, political and religious considerations should figure prominently in the nomination file.
