Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, Sixteenth session, 13-18 Dec
The sixteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage will be held fully online from 13 -18 December 2021. Our reps are Mr BernardJankee and Dr Maria Smith (Director, African Caribbean Institute of Jamaica/Jamaica Memory Bank and Programme Manager, JNC-UNESCO/ Culture Specialist respectively).
Mr Punchi Nilame Meegaswatte, Secretary-General – Sri Lanka National Commission for UNESCO, will chair this annual gathering which brings together hundreds of participants – representatives of States Parties, non-governmental organizations, cultural institutions and other stakeholders – from across the globe. The previous session was chaired by Hon Olivia Grange and which was held virtually for the first time in December 2020.
