The EduCulture School Tour, 2008

Caribbean Vizion in collaboration with the UNESCO Caribbean Cluster Office and The JNC-UNESCO, launched the EduCulture School Tour at the MICO Counselling Centre on 5 May 2008 and has since visited 16 schools in Jamaica.

The Educulture Forum, chaired by Choc’late Allen, is designed as a motivational and inspirational exercise that engages students in structured group discussions on key youth related social issues.

This young dynamite is both a positive role model for youth in the region and an articulate and ardent advocate for her peers. She has dedicated her time and talent to using the performing arts to educating youths in the region on a number of issues, including HIV/AIDS, violence, drugs, piracy, and the CARICOM Single Market and Economy.

Countries/Islands toured

2002 & 2005 – St. Vincent and the Grenadines – 50 & 85 schools visited respectively.
2002 & 2004 – St. Lucia – 75 & 45 schools visited
2003 & 2005 – St. Kitts and Nevis – 35 & 35 schools visited
2004 – Grenada – 2 motivational youth group sessions after Hurricane Ivan
2005 & 2006 – Guyana -150 schools visited.
2006 – Antigua & Barbuda – 25 schools visited.
2006 – Dominica – 25 schools visited.
2007 – Trinidad & Tobago – 60 schools visited.
2007 – Jamaica – mini tour – 16 schools visited.
