Honouring our Sheroes

The Caribbean Sheroes Initiative is a sub-regional Initiative that aims to produce knowledge and enhance the skills of young people to promote gender equality.

Honouring our Sheroes event was held April 29, 2021 with a focus on highlighting the work of Gender Equality Champions and the production of a Knowledge Tool detailing the approaches and impact of the Champions in their respective fields, lessons learned and recommendations based on the experiences and approaches of the CSOs.

Caribbean Sheroes launch

Highlighted the contributions of the following 12 outstanding CSOs, Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation (WCJF), The Women’s Research and Outreach Centre (WROC), Jamaica Household Workers’ Union, Jamaica Women’s Political Caucus, Women’s Media Watch (WMW) Jamaica, SISTREN Theatre Collective, Jamaica Network of Rural Women Producers, Woman INC, EVE for Life, Women’s Empowerment for Change (WE-Change), HerFlow Foundation and Soroptimist International Jamaica, as well as, Linnette Vassell and Joan French.
